SOCIAL GATHERING: MUSIC, DRINKS and FOOD
An evening of Mediterranean music as an anticipation of the session on Cultural Heritage
Monday 23 October from 19:00
Complex of Sant’Antoniello a Port’Alba, University of Naples Federico II, Piazza Bellini 56
The Social Gathering will be hosted by the University of Naples Federico II in the Complex of “Sant’Antoniello a Port’Alba” that is located in what may be considered the intellectual meeting point of the old city, namely Piazza Bellini, where the remains of the V-IV century BC city walls show how our history is embedded in our present.
Lively ancient streets lead from the Workshop venue to Piazza Bellini in a walk of about 15 minutes, inevitably made longer by curiosity. One of these streets is the ancient “Decumanus”, now part of “Spaccanapoli”, which is a long narrow street that splits (“spacca”) Naples into two.
The rich musical menu will be served by:
M’Barka Ben Taleb (voice, Italy and Tunisia) with Arcangelo Michele Caso (cello), Raffaele Vitiello (bass and guitar), Gianluca Mercurio (percussion)
Laurent Felipe, Douro Generation (trumpet, Portugal)
Marco Sannini (trumpet, Italy)
Loredana Simioli (voice, Italy) with Marco Piscopo (guitar)
“Kennst du das Land, wo die Zitronen blühn” (Do you know the land where the lemons blossom?) wrote Wolfgang Goethe at the end of the 18th Century, inspired by his Mediterranean journey in Italy. So, Alfonso and Livia Iaccarino offer a taste of lemon for the end of the dinner from their famous “Don Alfonso 1890” at Sant’Agata dei due Golfi.
Open to registered participants. Collect the ticket at the registration desk at the conference venue.
